Luanda, Angola - At least 120 African architects are attending the 10th congress of the Africa Union of Architects (AUA), which will run from Tuesday to Friday in Luanda, Angola. Aimed at sharing ideas and experiences, the congress is being attended by representatives from South Africa, Sudan, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, DR Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Uganda, Benin and Chad. Members of the International Union of Architects (IUA) and representatives of the International Council of Portuguese-Speaking Architects (CIALP) are also participating in the congress.
The AUA holds its congress every three years in a member country. It was founded 30 years ago in Nigeria, with the objective of uniting architects from the African continent.
Angola joined the organisation four years ago.
