Senegal, EU sign MoU for deployment of election observation mission - The European Union (EU) will deploy some 70 observers during the fIrst round of the Senegalese presidential elections on 26 February, according to the agreement signed Tuesday in Dakar with the Senegalese government.

The agreement regulates the legal framework concerning the participation of the European Union Monitoring Mission in the electoral process.

The pact, according to the political adviser of the European delegation in Dakar, Victor Madeira Dos Santos, is a prerequisite for the deployment of the observers.
