Libya urges international media to report on NATO crimes

Tripoli, Libya - The Libyan general press board has asked media, culture and education organisations and unions to condemn the crimes perpetrated by NATO against Libya through its air raids. Two Libyan journalists and their guides were killed on Thursday in NATO air raids against civilian sites in the heart of the Libyan capital, Tripoli. This was contained in a letter addressed on Friday to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Reporters without borders (RSF), the Union of African Journalists and UN Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The Libyan press board asked the organisations to abide by the principles on which they were based so as to reinforce their credibility.

The letter talked of documented and undeniable evidence and showed how NATO kills innocent civilians, destroyed civilian institutions, historical buildings placed under UNESCO’s protection, basic infrastructure and cultural and media institutions in Libya.
