Football Angola - The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has banned direct contacts between officials of teams featuring in the nation's top division league and referees assigned to their league matches. The ban was conveyed in a statement issued here Tuesday, after a meeting between representatives of the clubs and FAF.

It said that with effect from the 2012 football season, no team official should receive referees coming for their matches at the airport or pay them directly for their accommodation and other expenses.

The FAF said such payments must be made to a designated bank account to be managed by the referees' body.

No reason was given for the ban.
