Zambia-Football: William Njobvu out of Orange CAN2012 finals

Orange CAN2012 finals - Zambia national team will be missing yet another key player that coach Herve Renard was hoping to take with him to the Orange Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The tournament kicks off on 21st of this month and this current injury means Njobvu joins Jacob Mulenga on the injury list for Chipolopolo.

Renard is also praying that two other key player nursing injuries at present will be able to recover in time for the finals. While moaning the injury set backs coach Renard was quick to be positive and chose to dwell on what the remaining squad could do.

"It is sad that Njobvu is getting injured after Jacob, James and Thomas while we will miss Emmanuel Mbola due to suspension. Football is like this and we need to look forward " said Renard.

The coach went on to say that the training camp currently underway in South Africa is going on well and all the players are putting in their best during training.

Meanwhile, former national team goalkeeper Davis Phiri has joined the Chipolopolo technical bench and he is working with the three goalkeepers. Davis joins Stephen Mwansa as the trainers for the goalkeepers with his experience expected to come in handy.

There was some positive news for Chipolopolo from the medical team who gave the news that Nyirenda and Chamanga are on course with their recovery programme. "I am hopeful the two injured players will reach the mark by next week Friday," said Joseph Kabungo the team doctor.
