2012 Fifa U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers: Namibia-Ghana

Namibia-Ghana-2012 Fifa U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers - Young gladiators face Ghana in World Cup  -The national women's under-20 football side will face Ghana over two legs in the 2012 Fifa U/20 Women's World Cup qualifiers. Namibia's first play away in Accra on February 18 2012, with the return leg set for Windhoek on March 3. The winner of the fixture will have to battle it out in the second round of the qualifiers against either South Africa, Botswana or the Comoros Islands in April.

The seventh edition of the women's U/20 World Cup will be held from August 18 to September 9 2012, which will engage 16 teams representing all six confederations.

According to the NFA's Jackey Gertze, the encounter against Ghana will be testing and she hopes that they will compete well against the West Africans.

She said: "Ghana has shown over the past few years that they are a force to reckon with in women's football and their team was at the under-20 World Cup in Germany two years ago and most of these players were also in Germany for the senior World Cup this year and they are very good.

"But we have good upcoming girls too that need the exposure and we will make full use of it.".

Should Namibia advance to the third and final round, they will face off against Zambia, Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya or Lesotho in May next year.

Fifa has awarded the right to host the games to Uzbekistan.
