Mali names team against Cape Verde - Coach of the Malian national soccer team, Frenchman Alain Giresse, has called up 24 players in the match against Cape Verde on 3 September in Bamako, Mali, in the fifth-round qualifiers for the 2012 African Cup of Nations, to be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

However, the team will be missing its skipper Mahamadou Diarra, who was suspended for earning a red card against Zimbabwe, goalkeeper Omar Sissoko and midfielder Mohamed Lamine Sissoko.
